Happy Valentines day!! If you thought I was going to write a blog post about best date spots or outfits to wear for your first or thrid date.. You are right haha! I couldn’t write that blog because is kinda late now right? BUT I was thinking very hard of what I should write for you guys today and I thought – “How can we give love or be the best versions of ourselfs if we don’t put us first? our mental health, physical bodies and spirit?” I came to the conclusion that in other to give the way we desire to give we MUST put US first!
Lately, I’ve been focusing a ton on my mental state and myself overall and these 5 things I did have truly changed my life. I didn’t share on social media because I really needed this to be for me and not show my process of healing to 80 thousand people on my social media. Sometimes when we are going through some changes it is healthier to keep that to ourselves and truly work on ourselves.
But I saw how much happier I became and more DISCIPLINED. In the spirit of love, I challenge you to re-evaluate what you are doing that is bringing some discomfort or maybe making you lazier, upset or sad. If you are ready, let’s jump right into this thing!

I believe there are 5 factors in our lives that are very important. Keep in mind that this might be different to everyone. Whatever is your top priority, that will be what is more important. If you don’t know what your priorities are click here to define what those priorities are. I did that exercise and it was VERY eye-opening. Below I will give you some of the things I did that ROCKED my world!
1. FEED YOUR SPIRIT
One thing that will keep you grounded is feeding your spirit. If you are Christian like me, reading your bible, praying & worshiping is A MUST! look at your schedule and MAKE TIME to pray & read your bible. keeping that close relationship with God is what fills me up and keeps me sane and at peace when everything around me is on fire. He is my anchor. If you want to start developing a relationship with God. I recommend you to listen to worship music instead of other music. Instead of Netflix watch a sermon. Read Christian books! THIS ONE is my current fave and I’ve been sharing some pages on Instagram! Remember, Jesus is our healer. If there is anything you can’t bare or handle, give it to him. He knows our future and our past. His plans are better than our plan. Let’s trust him more and make him proud when we finally see each other face to face.

2. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY
I came to the conclusion that when I don’t eat healthy or workout my mood and my days reflect on how I feel on the inside. That is – Feeling lazy, tired, moody, and unbalanced. Make it a thing to work out at least 3x a week! Do it at home or go run around your neighborhood! I will share my favorite 10 minutes at home workout HERE. Also, drink water! (lots of it) Did you know that up to 60% of the human body is water? yup, that’s crazy! I recently got a mini gallon of water and aim to drink 2 mini gallons of water a day! (hello clear skin!) + I’ve been meal prepping so I actually eat! I work so much that I forget to eat. So meal prepping has saved my butt and made sure I actually get my 3 meals a day (NO EXCUSES).
3. MAKE TIME FOR THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE
This is definitely an interesting one. I think you didn’t see this one coming huh? Well, let me explain. You know how we often are seeking validation and love from friends? We have our family who will always be there for us but we don’t really set aside INTENTIONAL time for them. This is something I am still working on. I have the most loving family and they will ALWAYS be there for me no matter what. I always say I am too busy which is partly true but you can always make time to check up and be with the people you truly love. For me it’s family. For you can be long lost friends, your couch who truly made a big impact in your life or your husband/boyfriend. Make time for those you love and you will notice how significally happy you will be.
4. LEARN AND NEVER STOP LEARNING
When you stop learning you stop evolving. Take time to read, and maybe enroll in a club or a small group or something you are passionate about! I loved reading and stopped because I didn’t have time for it but I made learning and reading my top priority. Now I have like 15 books waiting for me to read hehe! Find a hobby and become the best at it 🙂

5. DISCONNECT AND ACTUALLY HAVE SOME ALONE TIME
Take a bath with candle lights & a book. Go for a walk ALONE and admire the beauty of nature! (I did this yesterday and it was so amazing) Take an hour or 2 to cook! no phone or tv just music! I feel like we got so used to not being bored and doing nothing because we can easily grab our phones and scroll till we drop. Be more mindful on how you are using your time.

Hope these tips blessed you and if you didn’t do anything this V-day it’s ok! Go buy ice cream, cookies & fresh flowers and celebrate you, babe. Thank you for sticking with me and just know that I love YOU! have a blessed one.

xx, mel
This is perfect !
